DIY Easy Bird Feeders

All

We’re using our Canadian Sunflower Seed Butter to create this charming and rustic bird feeder craft that is perfect for children or birdwatchers. Birds deserve delicious seed butter too!

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 medium pinecones or 2 small grapevine wreaths

  • Twine

  • ¼ cup Nuts to You Sunflower Seed Butter

  • 1 Tbsp cornmeal

  • 1 cup of mixed bird seed, black oil sunflower seeds and/or unsalted peanuts

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. bowl until well-blended.

  2. Add a long piece of twine to each pinecone or wreath by tying a knot securely at the top and leaving 8 to 10 inches of string to make hanging easy.

  3. Use a butter knife to slather the pinecones/wreaths in the seed butter mixture. Make sure to press it into the crevices.

  4. Place the seeds in a plate. Roll the pinecones/wreaths in the seeds until fully covered. You can use your hands to press the seeds into the mixture so they are more secure.

  5. Hang the bird feeders in a tree or bird-watching area by tying them to a branch. Then enjoy watching your new feathered friends have a feast!
